EMPOWERING TEACHERS AND EDUCATORS BY PROMOTING RESILIENCE IN THEM
Who is this course for?
Schools are places full of stress. Independently of whether you are teacher in a private school or in schools and educational institutions in poor city districts and neighbourhoods, teaching bring teachers face to face with many difficulties. But as Aguilar puts it, we must distinguish between healthy and toxic stress: the latter must be overcome. School leaders must focus on boosting the resilience of their staff. This course is aimed at school leaders (heads and deputy heads), other directors (of school districts and authorities), teachers and school staff from pre-school level to primary, secondary, vocational, adult and special needs education, staff of non-government organizations, government and policy makers and company staff as well as students and all those who want to learn about helping their peers (and even their learners) to maximize their potential. Participants are expected to have at least B1 level of English proficiency.
Methodology
Methodology is based on theoretical lessons and presentations of examples of good practice as well as discussions and experience comparisons. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know the theoretical background as well as go through a series of practical exercises focused on the central notion of resilience and on ways of promoting it. School leaders will acquire skills to cultivate resilience in their peers, and teachers and other professionals will enhance their skills for developing resilience.
