INCLUSIVE EDUCATION THROUGH
ARTS AND GAMES

Introduction and Description
Creating inclusive, engaging and emotionally supportive learning environments is one of the core challenges facing today’s schools and educational organisations. As classrooms become increasingly diverse—linguistically, culturally, socially and developmentally—teachers require innovative strategies that promote participation, collaboration and wellbeing for all learners. This course addresses these needs by exploring how arts-based and game-based pedagogies can serve as powerful tools for inclusion, enabling students of different backgrounds and abilities to learn together, express themselves, and contribute meaningfully to the classroom community.

Grounded in contemporary frameworks such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL), social-emotional learning, cooperative learning and creative pedagogy, the programme guides participants through the key principles of inclusive education and the barriers that may hinder student engagement. Through hands-on workshops in visual arts, drama, movement, storytelling and cooperative games, participants learn how creative and playful methods can help regulate behaviour, strengthen interpersonal skills, build trust, and promote positive group dynamics.
These accessible, low-threshold approaches offer teachers flexible pathways to differentiation, allowing them to adapt tasks to diverse learner profiles while preserving shared participation and joy in learning.
The course is highly relevant for teachers, school staff and educational leaders working in mainstream or special-needs contexts, as well as organisations seeking to foster whole-school cultures of inclusion, creativity and wellbeing—an important priority within Erasmus+. Participants develop practical tools they can immediately apply in their classrooms, including inclusive games, art activities, cooperative structures and authentic assessment approaches. The course also strengthens educators’ reflective capacities, promoting empathy, cultural sensitivity and learner-centred thinking.
Both 5-day and 10-day formats are available, allowing participants to choose between a focused introduction or an extended, immersive training with additional practice, micro-teaching and personalised project work. In both versions, each participant designs an inclusive, arts- or game-based learning activity that can be integrated into their own teaching context. The programme aims to inspire educators to cultivate classrooms where creativity, collaboration and inclusive values shape every learner’s experience.
