LEARN ENGLISH THE FUN WAY: ADVANCED ENGLISH FOR TEACHERS (B2–C1)

Introduction and Description

This is an advanced English language course designed for teachers and education professionals from all subject areas who use English as a professional working language in international, multilingual, and intercultural educational contexts. Addressed to participants operating at CEFR levels B2–C1, the course supports the development of fluent, accurate, and confident communication required for effective participation in European cooperation activities, mobility projects, and professional exchange within the framework of Erasmus+.

The course responds to current European priorities related to multilingualism, inclusion, quality education, and teacher mobility by strengthening participants’ ability to communicate effectively in English across a wide range of professional situations. Participants develop advanced speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through meaningful, real-life tasks reflecting authentic educational contexts, such as international meetings, project presentations, collaborative work, professional correspondence, and classroom communication.

A distinctive feature of the programme is its learner-centred and experiential approach, which combines academic rigour with creativity and playfulness. Language development is embedded in interactive activities, discussion, role-play, storytelling, media-based tasks, and collaborative problem-solving, encouraging spontaneity, confidence, and active engagement. Advanced grammar and vocabulary are revisited in context, enabling participants to refine accuracy, register awareness, and stylistic control rather than focusing on isolated language forms.

Particular attention is given to pronunciation, intonation, and pragmatic competence to support clear and effective international communication.

The course is explicitly designed for teachers of all subjects and does not focus on English language teaching methodology. Instead, it supports the practical use of English as a tool for professional communication, project work, and international collaboration. Reflection, peer exchange, and guided self-assessment are integrated throughout the programme, allowing participants to connect language development with their own professional roles and institutional needs.

Two programme formats are available: a 5-day course (25 hours) offering an intensive overview of advanced professional English, and a 10-day course (50 hours) allowing for deeper linguistic development, extended practice, and enhanced integration of skills. Both formats follow the same pedagogical principles and learning objectives, adapted in scope and depth.

By the end of the course, participants enhance their confidence, precision, and flexibility in English while developing strategies for continued autonomous language learning. The programme contributes to the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme by empowering educators to engage more actively in international cooperation, support multilingual school environments, and strengthen the overall quality and inclusiveness of European education systems.
